The Style 37S3 refers to a general Navy Department specification 37S3. It works much like stock numbers do; "37" is the Class number as part of Federal Specifications. Class 37; athletic equipment, recreational apparatus, sporting goods, special wearing apparel. Anything manufactured that can be classed under any of the preceding titles would be classed as such. The "S" would be the first letter in the nomenclature (ie. Suit, Flying, Winter would be the nomenclature in this case) and the "3" is a sequential assigned number in the 37S series.
The overall condition is quite nice with areas of scattered moth nips on the collar and cuffs. The zipper still functions properly and without fault.
A lovely example that comes more than ready for further research and display.
