Original U.S. WWII USN Patrol Boat PT-25 Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron Lt's Decorated M-41 Jacket - As Seen In Book

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Set Available. This Bedford cord one-piece flying suit is featured on page 106-107 in the book U.S. Navy Uniforms in World War II Series: Weapons, Equipment, Insignia: Submarine Service, PT Boats, Coast Guard, Other Sea Services, Volume 6 by Jeff Warner. In fact this piece was purchased by IMA from the estate of Mr. Warner along with much of his personal collection.

The khaki uniform and Army type field jacket of a PT boat lieutenant (j.g.). Note the 25th MTB Ron squadron patch and officer's combination cap with the cover stiffener ring removed. This 25th MTB Ron jacket patch was hand painted on thick canvas material. The epaulettes of this Army field jacket have had black mohair braid stripes and a line officer's star added to indicate lieutenant junior grade rank. This insignia was intended to be used on the sleeve cuffs of the aviation green winter working uniform coat. Both the squadron jacket patch and the black rank stripes added to the epaulettes were strictly non-regulation. The back of the jacket is decorated with hand drawn detail of the artwork depicting the Mosquito Boat insignia. (J. Warner)

M41 jacket is offered in excellent condition.
