Original British Georgian Named P-1796 Infantry Foot Officer Sword
Original Item: One-of-a-kind. A lovely British Georgian P1796 Infantry Officers sword, the straight single edged blade is 32 1/4" retains much blue and gilt decoration with royal cypher, crown over GR on one side and Royal Arms on the other side.
Features a gilt brass double shell guard, folding rear guard, twisted silver wire covered grip, urn pommel, it is complete with leather scabbard with three gilt brass mounts the general condition is very good, with normal signs of age and wear.

Reg of Foot
Lieutenant John Pratt enlisted in the 2nd Battalion of the 30th of Foot also known as the CAMBRIDGESHIRE REGIMENT OF FOOT on May 6th, 1813. He served at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 and was wounded. In 1819 he exchanged into the 28th of Foot Major in the 27th of Foot in 1828 and was still serving in 1830.
A nice example of the pattern 1796 officer's sword still with a good percentage of blue and gilt to the blade complete with scabbard and an exciting provenance.
