Original Items: Only One Set Available. Here we have a lovely set of WWII Era miniature replica Japanese swords, most likely made for export during and after the end of the war. It consists of two decorative Tachi replicas, along with three replica tanto short swords, all of which have German markings on them. These were made as souvenirs as well as advertisements, and we suspect that the two longer tachi replicas are also of European manufacture.
This set includes:
- a lovely miniature tachi in simple mounts, measuring about 15 inches long in the scabbard. It has a non magnetic alloy blade with plating and a faux hamon.
- a lovely miniature tachi in ornate mounts with a hanger cord, measuring about 12 5/8 inches long in the scabbard. It has a non magnetic nickel plated brass blade, which shows a good amount of use.
- a lovely miniature tanto short sword measuring 7 1/4 long in the scabbard, with a stainless steel blade marked ROSTFREI bearing a simulated temper line. There is a red tassel attached to the handle.
- a lovely miniature tanto short sword measuring 6 5/8 long in the scabbard, with a stainless steel blade marked ROSTFREI bearing a simulated temper line. There is a yellow tassel with a red cord attached to the handle, and the scabbard is marked with Brigitte Nadolf Tabakwaren (Brigitte Nadolf Tobacco Products).
- a lovely miniature tanto short sword measuring 6 5/8 long in the scabbard, with a carbon steel blade bearing a simulated temper line. There is a red tassel attached to the handle, and it is marked HEIDESCHLOSS SPANDAU on the scabbard.
A very interesting set that is sure to make for some great conversations!
