Original Item. Only One Available. This is a great New Old Stock example of a WWII Armorer’s tool chest in its original shipping box which has deteriorated heavily. Measures approximately 22 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 9 1/4" when packed in the original box.
The sides of the original chest read:
CHEST
STEEL, M6
D28201
The chest retains its original inner shelf with a bag with the original two keys. There are no other components in the chest. Both latches work well, and the chest has a great layer of paint from before being packed away.
The original cardboard shipping box is in disrepair with it having broken in several places with the cardboard separating as well. The box retains a label on the front reading:
COMMANDING GENERAL
ROCK ISLAND ORD. DEPOT
ROCK ISLAND ILLINOIS
The label is obstructed by ink but a great example. The box retains faint markings which date the chest to July 1942.
