Original Item. Only One Available. This is an excellent example of a WWII period private purchase Navy Officer’s ball cap. The cap is of red wool with a red grommet in each of the six sections of the body. The front of the cap has a gorgeous embroidered US Navy officer’s cap badge insignia.
The cap’s interior shows heavy wear to the thin oilcloth sweatband, with most of the stitching retained. There is some sweat-staining on the underside of the visor, and there are no markings we can find. It is roughly a size 6 ⅝.
