Original Item: Only One Available. Made of a soft tan leather, this helmet is in very good supple condition. It is constructed of multiple separate pieces of leather, with a 5 pointed Japanese Army Star on the front. The ear cups are complete, and made of hardened leather, each having holes in the center for mounting the communication equipment and receivers.
All straps of the flying helmet are fully functional, all the buckles and tabs work perfectly. The helmet features a seemingly hand-stitched lining which has some heavy wear. There are Kanji markings in one of the cups. Overall condition is very good, but does show signs of use and age. This is a true combat fighter pilot's flight helmet!
Included with the helmet is a set of original Japanese velvet-lined pilot’s goggles which come in their partial original case with the original velvet rag for cleaning. The case retains the pull string but one end of the case is missing. It comes with a velvet rag marked with an airplane insignia over Fukazawa Aircraft / Kanagawasaki.
There are many kanji markings on the interior, making for a great research project. Comes ready for further research and display.
