Original Item: Only One Available. This is an original German WWII Luftwaffe officer Fahrzeug Stabsflagge, or rigid vehicle staff pennant, intended for display on an officer or staff vehicle. It is an early pattern example with double sided BeVo style woven Luftwaffe eagles, retained within its original celluloid covering, and measures approximately 7 1/2" in hoist by 12" in fly.

Personal and unit command pennants were a long established German military tradition and were continued by the Luftwaffe, with regulations for vehicle and command pennants appearing from the mid 1930s onward. This example uses an early Luftwaffe eagle design with a droop tail appearance rather than the later 2nd Pattern eagle more commonly encountered.

The pennant is double sided and retains woven Luftwaffe eagle insignia on both faces. The original field appears to have been blue gray, though prolonged light exposure combined with yellowing of the transparent covering has shifted the visible color toward an olive tone.

The pennant remains enclosed within its original transparent celluloid covering. The hoist edge is finished with a canvas header, while the upper and lower fly edges are bordered in faux leather with white braid trim.

The celluloid remains almost completely intact. There is minor cracking near the point, along with scattered dents, slight shrinkage, and overall yellowing from age. No separate internal frame is readily apparent, and the rigidity appears to be supplied largely by the thick celluloid construction.

The upper hoist corner retains a metal attachment hook for securing the pennant to the vehicle mounting arrangement. At the lower hoist is an approximately 8" halyard used as an additional securing point.

Overall condition is very good for a service used vehicle pennant of this age. The border shows staining and age toning, while the transparent covering has yellowed and developed minor dents and cracking near the tip. The woven insignia remain visible and well preserved beneath the covering.

With its early style Luftwaffe eagles, double sided construction, original celluloid covering, surviving vehicle attachment hook, lower halyard, and compact 7 1/2" x 12" format, this is a distinctive example of a German WWII Luftwaffe vehicle staff pennant. The aged border, celluloid yellowing, shrinkage, dents, and tip cracking are all fully disclosed. It would fit especially well in a Luftwaffe vehicle equipment, command pennant, early eagle insignia, or advanced German WWII flag collection.
