Original Items: Only One Set Available. Purchased from a passing picker, this is a typical civilian WW2 Suitcase literally "just out of the attic" containing a selection of a U.S. Naval Medical Officers named B. de HOSSON. Included in this set are the following pieces-
Eight (8) officers khaki dress shirts all in just cleaned condition mostly still bearing the original dry cleaner’s paper wrapping of the era giving the impression it is 1946 and we’ve just picked up the uniform from the cleansers! Shirt sizes are all the same 15 neck and 34 sleeve.
One (1) officers khaki peaked visor cap. Khaki cotton hat body with black mohair cap band. Handsome with gilt officer's cap badge. Gilt chinstrap affixed to the cap with a gilt officer's button to each side. Khaki material in very good condition and sheen still present on the to the black patent leather visor. Soft leather sweatband with makers label to center of interior that reads; ALL-BILT UNIFROMS INC. 147 FULTON ST NEW YORK CITY. A very presentable USN visor cap. Grade I.
Three (3) WWII US Navy USN Medical Corps Officer Hard Shoulder Boards Epaulettes that feature gilt oak leaves with acorns. Grade of lieutenant. These boards are in very good vintage condition and were manufactured by Hilborn-Hamburger with one label still present.
(12) Peaked visor cap cotton covers (crowns), 8 white, 2 blue, and 2 khaki. These were used over the peaked cap so that officers did not have to purchase multiple peaked caps. Each has two button holes on the side to go over the buttons that hold on the chin strap. Individually these usually sell for around $25 each.
One (1) blue wool officer’s overseas garrison cap with sterling silver Medical officers cap badge featuring and anchor with leaf and acorns in size 6 ¾ with original makers label still intact.
Four (4) sets of heavy long john underwear
One (1) khaki canvas belt with brass buckle.
Approximately 20 pairs of socks mixed khaki and blue.
We really don't think this suitcase had been opened in almost 70 years; it’s a true time capsule.
