U.S. WW1 Original Sheet Music of ?Oui, Oui, Marie? Dated 1918
Original Item: One Only. Published by McCarthy & Fisher at 148 West 45th Street, New York City in 1918, this is an original color copy of the words and score relating the ballad of a WW1 G.I. in France and his love for a local tease. On the back cover we find the words and score for another WW1 G.I. favorite "Lorraine" published in 1917. The front cover signed by "Althera R Fletcher" a Vaudeville singer who no doubt traveled the country singing these very songs for her audiences. An interesting WW1 era piece of memorabilia that perhaps many a G.I. identified with during those lonely days in the trenches of wartime France.
