Original Item: Only One Available. From 1939 onward, the standard issue US Army soft cap was the garrison cap. Also known as overseas cap, pisscutter, or sidecap. Although there were variations in the lining styles, the pattern was consistent throughout WW2.? This is an original WWII issue wool garrison cap for wear with the Class A uniform. This garrison cap was issued to an artillery trooper as evident by the red (faded to pink) piping.
This style cap with squared off corners would have been purchased at the PX. it is a chino cap with 100% genuine Para/Glider patch stitched to the cap. The inside has a silk like lining and leather sweatband, meaning it was a higher quality production than most. It is approximately a size 7.
