Item Description
Original Item: As seen in the film "Saving Private Ryan" (which was supplied by IMA) these are WW2 manufacture un-issued canvas leggings as used by U.S. Troops on D-Day. Manufactured by various American Companies, each legging has an interior stamping which reads; "LEGGINGS, CANVAS, DISMOUNTED, M-1938" "3R" with Makers details and dated 1942/1943. After many years in storage, never issued, the tan canvas is in tip top condition, the grommets, hooks and buckles show some discoloration from deterioration of the finish due to age, a few strap ends even show some rust but it is original rust. Complete with thong type laces each legging has 17 eyeholes and eight catches for securing each leg. Purchased by IMA in the early 1990s and discovered recently in our warehouse reorganization, we have fewer than 30 pairs available.Note: Each legging is mixed meaning they were made be the different manufacturers and bear the different markings.
