Swiss M18/40 Steel Combat Helmet with Full Ring Liner
Original Item: Original Item: Although the Swiss were neutral in WW1 (and WW2) they kept up with military development and as both the Allies and the Central Powers adopted steel headgear in 1916, so did the Swiss (the M18). These helmets are totally original and come with German style full ring WW1 Helmet liners, which the Swiss copied, and come complete with an adjustable brown leather chinstrap. This model helmet has an interesting rough surface to the steel exterior, presumably to combat the possibility of any glare giving away troop positions.
Also of major note; it is true that this model helmet was the one on which the design of Darth Vader's helmet in the "Star Wars" films was based upon. These have become quite hard to find today, an early important step in helmet development especially with the "Star Wars" connection. In excellent issued condition.
