Prussian Sauer & Sohn Double Barrel 16 bore Antique Shotgun

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very fine doubled barreled 16 bore box lock shotgun manufactured around 1890 by the renowned German maker "Sauer & Sohn of Suhl" in Prussia.

Beautifully engraved this gun was imported and retailed by the famous Charles Daly Company established in 1875 that was finally taken over in 1919. In beautiful well-cared-for overall condition, however, the butt plate is absent as well as the owner's oval "initial plate" from the lower bottom of the butt stock.

The barrel rib is well marked "Fluid Steel - Krupp - Essen" and bears early Prussian imperial proof marks on the underside. The beautiful action still retains original color hardening and is marked "Charles Daly" one each side and "Made in Prussia" on the interior.

This is a high quality German Prussian Shotgun of the late 19th Century, retailed by Charles Daly one of the premier outfitters of the late 19th century still in lovely condition.
