Original WWII U.S. Navy Gun 3 Inch Wooden MK6 Drill Round with Steel Warhead

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic totally inert, wood construction, drill round for the USN 3 in./50 calibers QF gun that weighs 22.5lbs, and measures 31 1/4” in length.
The round is in very good condition and is weighted to match a live shell for accurate training handling purposes. The base plate is brass, and unfortunately has quite a bit of oxidation around the edges, which have made the original markings impossible to see. The wood condition is very good, with a lovely dark matured color, and this example also features a solid Steel warhead, with no fuse. The warhead has been painted gold, while the fitting below it has also been painted gold to match the base.
This is a great piece of World War II artillery and naval memorabilia which will make a very impressive display!
