Original WWII U.S. Navy Gun 3 Inch Wooden MK6 Drill Round - Dated 1943

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic totally inert, wood construction, drill round for the USN 3 in./50 calibers QF gun that weighs 23 lbs 8 oz. (10.7 Kg), and measures 34 3/4” (88.3 cm) in length.

The round is in very good condition and is weighted to match a live shell for accurate training handling purposes. The zinc plated steel base still does have some oxidation, but still has relatively clear markings: 3 INCH DUMMY CARTRIDGE MK 6 50 CAL and L M CO 1943 329486-B-6   F U N (with USN Anchor). The wood condition is great, with a lovely color, and this example also features a wooden dummy fuse. The metal condition is somewhat oxidized, with a bit of rust speckling where the zinc plating has oxidized through.

This is a great piece of World War II artillery and naval memorabilia which will make a very impressive display!
