Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent example of the classic WWII U.S. Issue Model 1940 “Pressed Fiber Sun Helmet” manufactured by the Hawley Products Company, who also made the famous Hawley M1 Helmet Liner. These helmets were issues in great numbers to members of the USMC during WWII. This particular specimen is an earlier variety, dating from early in WWII.
This helmet was just recently found “out of the woodwork” in Pennsylvania, having just been acquired out of an estate along with the USMC Officer’s Campaign Hat which we also have listed. The helmet is in untouched condition, overall excellent. It is complete with its original liner band, original leather chinstrap (which 9/10 times is generally missing), and US Marine Corps Eagle/Globe/Anchor device. The interior of the helmet is nicely marked with the ink stamp for the Hawley Products Company.
These are getting hardware to find, especially in this condition! Ready for display!
