Original WWII U.S. Marine Corps 6x30 Binoculars with Case
Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent condition pair of WWII U.S.M.C 6x30 binoculars that are nearly identical to the U.S Navy Mark 29, These were manufactured by the Universal Camera Corporation in New York.
When the mission was to observe movement across a wide expanse of air and water then a binocular with a much wider field of view was justified. Several wide angle binocular models were commissioned specifically for the Marine Crops whose vital work included spotting enemy vessels, planes, as well as other objects; these bear the designation U.S.M.C as found on this example.
These are marked on the right side of the rear by the eyepiece with the maker:

The left rear plate is marked:
U.S.M.C

The optics are clear and crisp, all aspects of the binoculars function, and they are in overall excellent condition. The leather leather neck strap is supple and strong without defect. The black leather case is in excellent condition with original leather carry strap, the lift-the-dot closure strap is missing.
Overall a fantastic Marine Corps WW2 6x30 binocular set!
