Original Item: Only One Available. Time Saved on Your Job is a 1943 World War II U.S.A propaganda poster by Mead Schaffer. The artwork was commissioned by the United States Labor Management Committee.
It is marked along the lower border 1943-O-519953 War Production Board. The image emphasizes the theme "Work Smarter" to help save time and to be more productive. The image demonstrates the direct relationship between factory production at home to the battlefield. The poster measures 40” x 28.5” meaning it is the rare large format version.
Schaffer began his career as a realistic painter illustrating classic books. His career transitioned to magazine covers in the 1930's, and he worked for numerous magazines including Cosmopolitan and the Saturday Evening Post. During World War II, Schaffer served as war correspondent for the Post and became known for his many paintings of American military men.
