Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice U.S. WWII Folding Chair, made by Charlotte Chair Co. and issued to the U.S. Army Air Forces. These were used by all branches, as well as being used in the civilian world, and it was most likely originally painted black, but that finish has now mostly worn away. It still has a faint yellow paint stamp on the back of the back rest indicating that it is USAAF property:
PROPERTY AIR FORCE
UNITED STATES ARMY
It is also yellow paint stamped on the bottom of the seat with the maker information in yellow:
CHARLOTTE CHAIR CO.
CHARLOTTE, MICH.
There is an additional marking of B M / A-1, however we do not know what this signifies, maybe a unit marking or something similar. Open, the chair measures approximately 35 1/2" x 19 1/2" x 20", and folded measures 31" x 19 1/2" x 6". It still folds up correctly and seems relatively sound.
A great antique chair from WWII, used by the U.S. Army Air Forces!
