Original WWII to Cold War Helmet Lot - American, Bulgarian, Swiss, Austrian, British - 6 Items

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Lot of 6 Available. Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice collection of helmets from various time periods and countries. All helmets are complete with liners and are offered in great condition. This is a wonderful lot to pick up if you are looking to either start collecting helmets or are just wanting to add these really nice examples to your already existing ones.

The following 6 helmets are included in this lot:
- Bulgarian WWII M36/C Steel Combat Helmet: This is the Bulgarian Model 36/C steel helmet without the early style rolled edge; two vent holes and six rivets. The M36 was produced in three patterns prior to WWII, and this was the last type of the Model 36 ever produced. Many M36 helmets saw service long after the war, so we do not know if the liner and paint are original or post war.

- Austrian M1 Helmet Clone: Austrian Army M1 style helmet with liner. These post-war helmets were copied from the US pattern M1 helmets which retained a similar silhouette and removable adjustable plastic liner but with minor modifications to meet the requirements of the Austrian military serving in NATO.

- Swiss M1971 Helmet: The shell is of a near hemispherical shape with prominent flares on both sides and stamped in 1.15mm steel.[3] It includes four rivets where the liner attaches to the shell. The shell is painted a matte dark olive green with a textured finish. Towards the rear two vent holes are present around the same spot and construction as the previous M18 and M18/40 models.

The liner itself consists of a metal band running the inside circumference with a foam spacer between it and the shell. Attached to the band are four leather pads, affixed to the rear of these is a leather pouch where simple pieces of thick felt are used for sizing to one's head. A drawstring connects all four pads for further sizing. The chin strap is a four-point setup with the straps attaching to the shell in the same place the liner itself does.

Both chin straps connecting with a simple hook and catch system. A cover in TAZ 83 pattern camouflage was produced for the helmet, with four hooks to attach to the shell and a pull string to size it accordingly.

- British Air Traffic Controller Helmet Dated 1992: The helmet is in unissued condition and complete.

- USMC Gulf War era M1 Helmet: The helmet is complete and has an EGA stenciled Chocolate Chip camouflage helmet cover. The M1 helmet is a combat helmet that was used by the U.S. military from World War II until 1985, when it was succeeded by the PASGT helmet. The M1 helmet has become an icon of the US military, with its design inspiring other militaries around the world.

- Unknown Civil Defense / Hard Hat: The helmet is thin aluminum with a leather liner and chinstrap. The helmet appears to be complete and is in good condition. There are no identifying marks on it that we can find.

All helmets come more than ready for further research and display.
