Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice original Swedish National Socialist Party (Svenska nationalsocialistiska partiet, or SNSP) Enameled Badge Buttonhole Pin. This group was the Swedish branch of the German National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, or NSDAP). As the "Nordic" countries of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark were considered to be part of the same "Aryan Master Race" that the German NSDAP idealized, they were very eager to make inroads in those countries as well.

Fortunately, the SNSP fared relatively poorly in Sweden, and never achieved the success in popularity or political power that the NSDAP did, and officially disbanded in 1936. The two other Fascist organizations in Sweden did little better, and the country remained neutral through WWII.

This example is a standard issue membership badge, awarded to all personnel on acceptance as an official party member. It is a 24mm diameter, die struck alloy badge SNSP membership badge with multi-colored enamel work. The badge features a translucent red, circular outer border with embossed golden script, NATIONALSOCIALISTERNA .S.N.S.P., encompassing a blue translucent enamel field with canted gold enamel Swas.  It is in excellent condition, with the original gilding almost completely intact.

The back shows a very nice "button hole" style pin attachment, which could fit in pretty much any button hole on a jacket, shirt, and so forth. There is also maker mark ALOIS RITTER / STOCKHOLM on the back of the badge, partly hidden by the button hole retainer.
