The Royal Welsh Fusiliers were raised in 1689 as the 23rd Regiment of Foot to serve under the new King William 3rd against the outgoing King James 2nd becoming known as the Welsh Fusiliers in 1702 and being awarded the title "Royal" in 1713. Probably one of the most active Regiments in the British Army, fighting at Lexington and Concord, and later at Yorktown. It served in the Peninsula Wars and at Waterloo under the Duke of Wellington and participated in almost every Campaign throughout the Victorian era. It then served in the Boer War and World War One and Two. Just a few short years ago it served in Bosnia.
