  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic well-used condition Japanese WWII tropical issue lightweight white cotton Navy forage cap. Features the classic four eyelet string closure to the back and a yellow embroidered Naval Landing Forces anchor to the front. There is also a decorative chin strap across the front, as is standard, with three vent eyelets per side. This example has an attached translation tag reading:

    Sasebo Naval Depot
    July 1943
    User, Akio Suzuki
    Sasebo Seaman 47023
    User, Morio Nagamine
    3-15

This denotes that this example was issued twice and named to both sailors, a very rare occurrence. It also denotes the date as July 1943.

The size seems to be around 57cm. This is one of the best tropical issue examples of a WWII Japanese Navy forage cap we have ever encountered. Quality items of this kind are very rarely encountered. Ready for further research and display.
