Original Item: Only One Available: This is an excellent condition genuine WWII Italian 3 bronze band strap tropical weight visor hat, indicating the rank of Major. It was likely meant for wear in Africa. The front of the cap has a lovely hand-embroidered bullion badge, showing a crown over crossed rifles with a 8 device in the center, the insignia of the Italian Infantry, for the 8th Infantry Division or regiment.
The cap is in outstanding condition with the visor and chinstrap both in good shape, the latter being held in place by two Italian Infantry buttons. The cap band is great with some tarnishing of the finish and the cap is virtually free of moth nips, although there is some staining.
The underside of the visor is in good order with the green finish. The interior shows a gorgeous retained sweatband with a retained size tag, 57. The celluloid sweat shield is a gorgeous diamond example with the maker’s information:
UNIONE MILITARE
MILANO
The cream-colored patterned lining is just outstanding.
One of the best Italian visors we have had. Ready for display!
