Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. The "Bustina" field cap was originally introduced in 1933 and was worn by both Army and Fascist militia personnel, with minor variations.
This green wool field cap features fold down side panels are held together over the crown of the cap by two corresponding hidden snaps. The front visor is in the upright position. To the front is a very fine embroidered gold bullion on crimson background Italian Army cap insignia. Also, on the left side is embroidered gold bullion on silver background rank badge of two stars denoting the rank of Generale di Divisione (Division General).
The interior is fully lined in a brown rayon/silk, and we did not find any markings on the interior, even under the sweatband. This was almost certainly made as a bespoke cap for a General, and not standard issue.
