Original WWII Imperial Japanese Named Sergeant Major Tunic with Photo
Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This is a rare original WW2 Japanese Army tunic for a Sergeant Major. The tunic is in near excellent condition. High quality construction, cotton shell and lining with polished buttons. Features Sergeant Major collar tabs with embroidered stars. There are several lines of Kanji ink stamped to the inner lining which we are told reveal that this is the model 1939 and made in 1942 and the soldier’s name. Size is approximately a 38 chest. Overall excellent condition with no stains, tears or moth damage. They don’t come much cleaner than this.
Also included is an original photo of the Sergeant Major with his brothers along with pages of correspondence.
A very nice hard to find named collection from a time when Imperial Japan though that they were on top of the world.
