Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is genuine U.S. Navy type Mark I Deck Clock, made by the M. Low of New York. It is mounted in a dust proof and moisture proof black phenolic case with a 5 1/4" dial. It features hour and minute hands on the main dial, with a smaller dial for the seconds.
The case for the clock opens up to show the back, which has an original Chelsea Clock Company marked winding key inside. This key which winds the clock and sets the time. There is an adjustment for the speed of the clock, as well as a "STOP" hacking function to freeze the seconds for clock synchronization. We have wound the clock, and it keeps good time.
The face reads as follows:
MARK I- DECK CLOCK
M. LOW, NEW YORK
This nice example is still mounted to the back mounting plate. The plate is chipped in a 3" area along the edge, but this does not effect the function or ability to wall mount the clock.
Clock face measures approximately 5 1/4 inches in diameter, with the outer housing measuring about 6 3/4 inches in diameter at the front, and 8 1/2 inches at the back. It measures about 4 1/2 inches deep.
The United States Navy used Mark 1 Deck Clocks throughout WWII to help indicate the time while on deck, and afterwards. Would make a perfect clock for your desk at work or at home!
There is no warranty for this clock and returns for a non-working watch will not be honored. Please note all clocks are wound and tested then recorded on video before shipment. We are not in the repair business- ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
