  • Original Item: Only One Available. This very nice and rare helmet started out as a WWII British MK I Dispatch Rider helmet. After that, due to the wartime demand for paratrooper helmets, it was modified into a paratrooper helmet. The paratrooper and dispatch rider helmet utilized the same shell and makers, so this was not a very hard conversion.

This involved cutting off the original leather head and neck curtain, which also was the chin strap of the helmet. It then had the aluminum paratrooper band installed to mount the three chin strap attachments and modified liner to.  It was then repainted and fit with a nice helmet net, which still retains some original burlap camouflage.

Condition is good, but does show quite a bit of service wear to the shell. The chin strap is in good condition, and was modified by adding an additional section to the rear for a larger fit. a leather band was added on the inside, over the original felt padding.

A great example of a wartime modified Paratrooper helmet, ready to display!
