Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a very nice set of U.S. Navy Binoculars, as used during World War One. These are much less advanced than the types used during WWII, and are very similar to the types used around the world. They are marked on the eyepiece support, though unfortunately the markings are miniscule, and cannot all be read. On the left side they definitely do say U.S. NAVY / POWER / 3, but the rest of the markings are unfortunately un clear. The central adjustment is stamped with U.S. NAVY No. 4454.
Fully closed, the binoculars measure 5 1/4"H x 5 1/4"W x 2 3/8", and are of sturdy brass construction. The leather covering is in great shape, and is on both the body and the extendable sun shields on the end of the barrels. The focus adjustment works, however the right barrel does get stuck during movement, so it does need a little help to slide smoothly. The optics are still clear, making this a very nice example of the typical binoculars used by the U.S. Navy during WWI.
