Original Item: Only One Available. WWI AEF US Army/USMC M1909 Leather Belt Holster for the Colt or S&W M1917 .45LC Revolver. This is a vintage old military belt holster. It is used, see photo's for condition. The leather is still soft and supple. There are no deep cracks or major issues with the leather. The brass end cap and loop are original and it still retains the original leather tie-down thong!
The leather has darkened with age. It has a worn US oval logo on the front. On the rear of the holster it is marked G&K 1917 along with unit markings I452 47 . The markings are faint but readable. This is a very nice example of this model holster.
This holster is not a left hand design. It was originally designed to be carried on the right side of the waist with the gun in the "Butt Forward" position. Please see: page #216 in Edward Scott Meadows book "US Military Holsters and Pistol Cartridge Boxes"
