Original Items: Only Ones Available. A set of WWI Rifleman’s Field Equipment in good service-worn condition with unit markings! This is the standard issue “Rig” as issued to the U.S. Infantryman during WWII. All pieces are in excellent condition, especially considering their age.
The set consists of:
- M1910 Haversack which is unit-stenciled 332 / CROSSED RIFLES / M denoting Company M, 332nd Infantry Regiment, 83rd Division. It was initially part of the 83rd Division, but was detached to serve on the Italian front during the war, taking part in the Battle of Vittorio Veneto. It was the only infantry regiment to fight in Italy against the Austro-Hungarian Army.
- Meat can pouch with 1917-dated mess kit inside by LF&C.
- Original pack tail with leather piece to connect it. Rare.
- M1910 Cartridge belt marked to 4th New York Infantry regiment.
- M1910 Canteen with cover stenciled for 306th Field Artillery with “H. No. 154” written above. Dated 1917 by Galvin. Outstanding cover.
The haversack is the true prize of this lot. Material to the 332nd Infantry Regiment is extraordinarily scarce, and this will be a fantastic set for any WWI collection. Ready for display.
