Original WWI Naval Nautical Flare Canister Set - Lifeboat Distress Signal

Original Items: Only One Set Available. These are a set of two copper canisters designed to be watertight in order to store distress flares. We believe they date from the early 20th century and each has a heavy screw top lid.
The larger measures 12 tall with a 6 diameter and embossed on the side it reads:
HAND RED FLARE DISTRESS SIGNALS
The smaller canister measures 10 tall with a 5.5 diameter. The top lid reads:

CORROSIVE
These are both very attractive useable vintage pieces of nautical equipment, both offered in good condition with minor imperfections. Perfect for any sailor!
