Original WWI Imperial German Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 465 Veterans Flag Dated 1934

Item Description

Original Item: One-of-a-kind. The Imperial German 465th Infantry Regiment during Wolrd War One was active only on the Westernfront because it was formed in the beginning of 1917. The fought in Siegfriedstellung, Arras, Flanders, St. Quentin, Reims, Laon, Origny and Guise. There is a regimental history book that was published (in German) in 1930 and can be seen at this link.

This flag which measures 48 inches by 40 inches is a 1934 produced Veteran's flag. It bears a silver plaque on the shaft which bears the 1934 date. The flag is produced of heavy silk-like material with gold bullion fringe and ornate heavy embroidery. One side is black with a crown, the Regiment Insignia and 465 in Gold lettering. The other side is cream color with the battle campaigns, a sword and an 1914 Iron Cross. The campaigns listed are: Flandern, St. Quentin, Arras, Le Catelet, Reims, Leuilly and Origny.

This is an incredibly high quality flag used during the NSDAP regimen almost certainly for military and political rallies. A rare and eye catching Great War flag.
