Original Item: Only One Available. This is a classic German WWI Artillery Officer's sword. The nickeled brass alloy hilt consists of a blucher type design. The blade, although tired, still exhibits a full etched blade with 2. Garde-Feld-Artillerie Regiment etched in a panel. The 2nd Guards Field Artillery Regiment (German: 2. Garde-Feldartillerie-Regiment) was an artillery unit in the Prussian Army prior to and during the First World War. The regiment was part of the 4th Guards Infantry Division.
The 34 1/4 inch blade of this sword is in decent condition, and shows signs of use from accumulated years in storage, mostly along the edge and tip. These were originally intended ceremonial swords, and not really intended for cutting. The blade has a brushed steel finish, with floral designs, military motifs, etc throughout running half way up the blade.
Overall a very good condition high quality Imperial German Officer’s Sword. Ready to hang on the wall!
