  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice condition U.S. Army Infantry Officer's M1902 visor cap in very dark blue, intended to be worn by Officers for dress and parade occasions. This example is particularly well made, with the New York officer's front insignia FULLY HAND EMBROIDERED in gold and silver bullion. There are also great General Officer’s oak leaves and acorns of bullion embroidered on the visor. Some amazing detailing! Officer's caps were usually privately purchased, and this officer apparently had a lot to spend.

The cap features a patent leather covered visor, probably supported by pressed paper or fabric. The brown leather sweatband is stitched to the body of the hat, and is in excellent condition, with a size stamp reading 7½, a large size. The crown of the cap is lined with black satin fabric, and is marked as follows:

    RIDABOCK & COMPANY
    TRADEMARK
    NEW YORK
    149-151 W. 36TH ST. WEST OF BWAY

The markings are in gold paint, and have very little wear. The front of the cap bears the correct gold Seal of New York, with a gold bullion adjustable chinstrap with two New York National Guard side buttons. There is some light mothing on the crown but nothing too serious. The interior has some wear with the underside of the visor very stained.

A great opportunity to pick up a rare cap from the WWI Era!
