Original Item: Only One Available. Another very rare item we found at the Show of Shows in Louisville Kentucky is this very early dated Bobby helmet from the Port City of Portsmouth in the south of England.
Manufactured like the Army Officer's Helmets of Queen Victoria's England this "black cloth" Helmet has silvered mounts including a ball top similar to Royal Artillery issue.
The Helmet Plate shows the King's Crown over a coat of arms of Star with Crescent Moon amid wreath being the City Arms of Portsmouth.
The helmet still retains the original silvered interlocking ring chinstrap however the leather backing is now absent. The leather hatband is present and a spectacular maker's mark is displayed to the interior, it bears "Crowned" shield of Arms that reads:
