  • Original Item: Only One Available. Found by a digger in France in the 1970s this is an iron picket used to string barbed wire entanglements, famously used in WWI, but also in WWII. A bar could be pushed through one of the loops to screw it into the ground, and then the barbed wire would be strung through the loops. Also known as corkscrew pickets and silent pickets (because they were screwed in instead of driven with a mallet), and were made as early as 1915. Iron construction measuring approximately 45 inches in overall length. A hard to find piece of trench warfare history.
