  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very intricately designed African spear with a long thick rope attached to the top of the spear which itself disconnects to be thrown and retrieved with ease. The lower shaft of the spear measures roughly 78” The spear insert itself measures 12½” long. There is very little reference to these spears, but it appears to be period and has a very intricate construction.

The shaft of the spear appears to be made of either bamboo or cane. It starts small at the bottom but becomes larger the further up it goes. The spear insert does not hold very well in the hole and must be kept upright to stop it from falling out. The ropes are very thick and are strengthened to handle being thrown. The ropes are very dark and show a great deal of age. This is a very unique piece that could use a great deal more research. Ready for display.
