Approximately one quarter of the body has been removed to expose the internal construction, and the original tail assembly remains attached with its projecting plastic tube. The complete assembly measures approximately 24” long.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are NOT considered NFA weapons. When it comes to designing a training program for military personnel, instructors are faced with several challenges. First, unlike athletes there is no off-season, most units are either preparing for deployment, deployed, or refitting from deployment. Secondly, training facilities vary from location to location and often focus on a single task. These tasks may include muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, field craft or marksmanship. Each of the above contribute to the success of an operation, however there is one area of training that is deficient. This deficiency is visual training; visual ability plays a larger role in achieving optimum performance than most military personnel realize. The goal of integrating visual training into an already packed curriculum is not to dilute it but to improve tactical performance.

To help users better understand the equipment they are using, examples like this cutaway were made. These were intended to give the users a look at the internal structure of the explosives, showing the different layers as well as where they connect or thread into each other.

This is a well-made cutaway of a round for the RPG-22 Netto, with a fourth of the structure cut out to display the internal mechanisms of the rocket. Even the tail assembly is included with the plastic tube coming out of the bottom. The shaft internals are very interesting but it is possible that the head is missing some interior components. This was certainly a military-cut set. The round measures 24” long and is a great display piece. With the plastic tube moved out of the way, it can even sit on its bottom, which looks great.

The retained tail assembly, exposed internal shaft, broad cutaway section, scattered ink stamps, and substantial 24” length make this an especially informative example of Soviet anti-armor training material. The possible absence of components within the nose is an important condition and completeness consideration, but the projectile remains an effective technical display of the RPG-22 rocket’s internal construction.
