  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely example of U.S. WWII "pro work" propaganda, exhorting workers to show up to work, as it was vital to the war effort on the home front. Maintaining peak production was a huge part of winning the war, and that relied on everyone showing up to work and giving their all.

This poste shows a worker with a hammer, except instead of building something, he is nailing shut a coffin, with a message surrounding him:

    EVERY DAY
    YOU'RE ON THE JOB

    IS A Spike IN
    HI***R'S
    COFFIN!

The coffin is marked with the NSDAP Swas emblem on the top, and under this reads:

    BODY OF
    ADOLPH SCHICKELGRUBER

This is a clear reference to Adolf H's illegitimate birth, and the fact that his biological father was not known. This was a clear source of shame for him, and bringing it up here shows the level of disdain shown for the infamous dictator. Of interest is that it looks like this poster board was used more than once, as the other side has a large SIGN Petitions HERE message.

Condition is good, and definitely shows that this poster saw quite a bit of history. There are paint markings, spatter, and other issues, and it also definitely had one end exposed to water at some point, which stained the bottom 25% of the poster.

Comes ready to mount, frame and display!
