Original Item: Only One Available. This is a rare fully functional World War Two issue U.S. Navy Bakelite flashlight. The flashlight requires two "D" cell batteries, and has a constant "On" and "Intermittent" switch. There is a compartment for a spare bulb in the end cap. Flashlight was constructed by the Stewart R Browne Manufacturing Company, New York.
It is certified as a "Permissible Electric Flashlight" and has lots of small type which can only be read with a magnifying glass which attests to the ability of this flashlight to be used in dangerous conditions where gases, etc., are present. It has a brass folding hanger riveted to the side. USN is clearly molded into the handle. The flashlight measures 8 1/2 inches in length.
