Original Item. Only One Available. This is an outstanding and genuine U.S. Marine Corps Ship Clock, made by the Chelsea Clock Co. of Boston, Mass. It is mounted in a heavy metal case and has a 5 3/8" white dial. It features hour and minute hands on the main dial, with a smaller dial for the seconds. The clock is working with a retained winding key, and the glass crystal in front of the dial is still present and unbroken. The clock was last serviced in 2001, and should work great mounted on the wall.
There is no warranty for this clock and returns for a non-working watch will not be honored. Please note all clocks are wound and tested then recorded on video before shipment. We are not in the repair business- ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
The face reads as follows:
U.S. MARINE CORPS
CHELSEA-BOSTON
The crystal lid still unscrews from the front so that the clock can be wound with the key. The back of the clock is stamped with serial number 270958. From research conducted by a previous owner, we know that this clock was shipped to the Depot Quartermaster of Supplies at 1100 50 Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on January 27th, 1941.
There are no major defects to the clock, just staining to the face and scratches. The clock has an outstanding patina and will look great in any Marine Corps or WWII collection.
