Original Items. One-of-a-Kind Group. This is a lovely WWII 1st Marine Division grouping identified to Assistant Cook Robert Ernest Guinther, who first enlisted in July 1943. The grouping includes his medals, EGAs, patch, and dog tags.
In our research, we found that Guinther served with the HQ Squadron, Marine Aviation Detachment, Naval Air Technical Training Center in Jacksonville, Florida from 1943-1945, also serving with the 1st Service Battalion, 1st Marine Division from July 1945 to January 1946. A great opportunity for further research.
The group includes:
- Guinther’s dog tags on their original string, with one having a lovely little rubberized cover.
- 1st Marine Division patch, great WWII manufacture.
- Larger Hat EGA (Eagle, Globe, & Anchor) insignia with screwback.
- Pair of smaller Collar EGA insignia with screwbacks.
- WWII Victory Medal.
- USMC China Service Medal.
- WWII Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal.
