Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a gorgeous M43 Field Jacket worn by Marine Corps Corporal Ewald Schuettner who briefly served in China during the Second World War. The interior lining of the jacket is professionally embroidered with an EGA (Eagle, Globe, Anchor) insignia over a lovely dragon motif with the 1st Marine Division insignia.
The bottom of the lining is embroidered:
E. SCHUETTNER
TIENTSIN, CHINA
The 1st Marine Division insignia has GUADACANAL in the 1. The work is extremely well-done and thankfully doesn’t appear to have much if any wear, so this jacket was certainly put away once the soldier returned home. The jacket still retains the M43 field jacket hood in the pocket.
A gorgeous display piece, ready for further research and display!
