Original Item: Only One Available. Double sided, rectangular panel with a pointed end on each side. Two Marines could button the sections together in order to make a tent. The colors are vibrant with no staining to the fabric. Overall condition is excellent, the fabric is still soft and pliable, with all the grommets and buttons intact. The shelter half is stamped on the end:

The opposite side of the poncho near the head hole are two stenciled numbers, 46 59. There is very heavy wear to the poncho around this hole, with the material now stiff and tearing, and the snaps heavily oxidized. This example certainly saw heavy period field use.
Forming a roll around the field pack this shelter half was an essential part of a Marine's field equipment!
