Original Items. Only One Set Available. This camera is a specially designed Speed Graphic with external focusing and firing mechanisms, and a solid lens mount, without bellows. It is painted Olive Drab and has a focal plane shutter as well as a leaf shutter mount for a Kodak 127 mm F4.7 Anastigmat Special lens in a special mount. Back is a 4x5 Graflex mount with a focusing panel. This camera was specially designed for the U.S. Navy during WWII, and comes in its original case with a box of flash bulbs by Sylvania, three expired batteries, and spare film pack adapters.
The data plate on the side of the camera itself reads:
PROPERTY U.S. NAVY
CAMERA, COMBAT
18-C-235
CONTRACT NO. N288s-14657
SERIAL NO. 1023
THE FOLMER GRAFLEX CORP.
ROCHESTER 8, N.Y. U.S.A.
The camera is in good shape and retains its carrying strap and shoulder strap. It has the original “sight” and appears to retain all of its original parts. The camera measures roughly 7 x 7½ x 12”. The case measures approximately 19½ x 9 x 11½”.
The case comes with two film pack adapters, one of which is in a leather case, a box of vintage Sylvania flash bulbs for the camera, and three expired modern batteries. We are unsure if the camera still works, but with all the materials here, it could stand a chance. A very nice Navy camera from WWII, ready for further research and display.
