Original U.S. WWII US Navy 24 Hour Ship’s Clock by the Chelsea Clock Company

Original Item: Only One Available. This is genuine U.S. Navy 24 Hour Deck Clock, made by the Chelsea Clock Co. of Boston, Mass. It is mounted in a heavy bakelite case and has a 5 1/4" black dial. It features hour and minute hands on the main dial, with a smaller dial for the seconds. The clock is working as far as we can tell, and the glass crystal in front of the dial is sill present and unbroken. There is corrosion on the hands now, and the radium paint has all turned brown due to degradation of the fluorescent material.

SER. NO. 107848E
The back of the movement bears number 456146, which should be the movement serial number, that would indicate manufacturer in approximately 1943.
The US Navy used these throughout WWII to help indicate the time while on deck, and afterwards. Would make a fantastic display piece for any Naval collection.
