Original Items: Only One Lot of 2 Available. These are lovely examples of WWII period photo albums. The “themes” of the albums are a mixture of US Navy, Named Army Air Corps photos and the Army Service Forces. Pictures are a wonderful window into the past, especially pictures from the biggest and deadliest war in history. It is important to note that while handling vintage and antique photographs, be sure to only hold them on the edges so the oils in your fingers do not transfer to the paper and in the end damage them. These have stood the test of time and proper care and storage would increase the longevity of them!
The Albums In This Lot:
- “Black” 10” x 7” Photo Album With 61 Pictures: This is a lovely photo album featuring a wide spectrum of images. The images range from Army Air Forces to soldiers in France with their “girl friends”. Also an important thing to note, we did find an inappropriate sketch on the back of one of the pictures, so take this into consideration for the younger eyes that may be looking! Most of the pages are detached from the string binding and a small handful of photos are loose inside the front cover. One of the loose images is the crew of an unidentified B-17. There is writing on the bottom that gives the name “R.R. DELAIN” as well as what appears to be a tail number of sorts, 272-10A. We have not been able to identify either of the information that was stated.
- “Brown” 10 ⅛” x 7” Photo Album With 78 Pictures: This is another lovely photo album featuring a good amount of Sailors in 1942 Honolulu. There are a good amount of US Navy as well as Army Air Forces in both the United States and what appears to be France and Germany. There is plenty of writing present on the edges as well as the backs, making research totally possible!
This is a lovely pair of photo albums, perfect for any WWII collections. Comes more than ready for further research and display.
