Original Items: Only One Lot of 14 Available. This is an amazing collection of photographs featuring Marines (and soldiers) posing with downed Japanese Aircraft, mostly Mitsubishi Zeros. The best photo in the lot shows Marines with captured Katanas and a “Good Luck Flag”. Also in this photograph is something rarely seen, a Chaplain wearing a captured Japanese pith helmet while holding up the captured flag! The photos are in excellent condition, with all the details still highly visible and easy to discern. Some even have U.S. Army censor stamps on the back, indicating that they were passed as being allowed to take home. We do not see any adhesive on the backs of these photos from being previously in a photo album.
Overall, it's an outstanding collection that any aviation history enthusiast would love to see.
